Dear Everyone:

I know that you can say "how are you?" in these ways:

Comment allez-vous?

or

Comment ça va?

However, someone recently told me that I can say "How are you?" in French by using just one word:

"siray" or "sirey" (please forgive my phonetic spelling)

I have never of this, but I don't know everything about the French language! Basically, is this true? Any info given is greatly appreciated. Merci bien!

Ça roule ?

Explanation:
Il faudrait bien sûr avoir l'écriture phonétique pour en être sûr, mais la présence du "R" me donne à penser qu'il s'agit de cette expression, très courante : "ça roule ?" dans le sens de : tout ba bien pour toi ?

neutral  Sylvain Leray: ici je pense à « ça ira ? », comme on peut le dire parfois, variante « ça va aller ? ». Mais que de suppositions...

ça, raï

Explanation:
Hi,

I'm native of the South of France and in the old regional language, the old people -or people in the villages- said sometimes "ça, raï !", but it doesn't mean "comment ça va?" It means "oh, ça, ça n'a pas trop d'importance", "ça, encore, ça peut passer : ce n'est pas grave". It can maybe be what you heard.
