Durch den Verbrauch des vorgespannten Glasfaserfadens während des Wickelprozesses um den Monolith verringert sich der Fadenvorrat in der Fadenspanneinheit; die untere Rollenreihe steigt nach oben und hebt das Lastgewicht an. Damit ist die konstante Fadenspannkraft gewährleistet. Um den unkontrollierten Sturz des Lastgewichtes im Fall eines Fadenrisses zu verhindern, fährt mit leichtem Versatz zu dieser Bewegung ein Pneumatikzylinder ein.

Vnímám to jako fyzickou mechanickou součástku (závaží, příp. břemeno) podle kontextu sloužící k napínání (přitížení) vlákna. Neumím si představit, že bych pneumatickým válcem zajišťoval „užitečné zatížení“ coby veličinu proti neřízenému pádu v případě přetržení vlákna.
