Context please? 10:44 Dec 17, 2018
Is "Hühnergeschnetzeltes" the title of a recipe? An item on the ingredients list in a recipe? Precisely in those two contexts, I'd translate them differently - a recipe for "Hühnergeschnetzeltes" might call for "Hühnergeschnetzeltes" in the list of ingredients, but if you were calling the recipe "Chicken fricassee" you wouldn't list that in the ingredients - you'd list "chicken, chopped". If it's an item on a menu then there's a whole other context to consider - is it just "Hühnergeschnetzeltes" with no explanation? If it does have an explanation, do you really need to say that the chicken is chopped or cut into strips? I don't think so; no one cares, it's too specific and - in the case of "cut into strips" - too long-winded. However, "strips of chicken" may work, but again, it depends on context. |
