disagree  Sarah Silva: I think mittel implies medium-sized rather than small

  -> I didn´t mean to say the areas are small BUT smallER (relatively speaking) as opposed to the whole extent of the project...
disagree  David Williams: smaller would only work if you have previously referred to an area of known size that is larger. It is very German to refer to something in a comparative way without actually making a comparison, i.e. Größere Flächen = relatively large, NOT larger areas.

  -> see my comment above to sarah. It seems pretty obvious to me that the area a windpark is built on is quite extensive (again relatively speaking) and thus the areas being built on at any one time are small or smaller, compared to the whole thing...

  -> "mittelräumig" does not provide that definition either! It is in between "kleinräumig" and "grossräumig" and refers to impacts on the area surrounding the construction site.
