Talking about measures to scare of porpoises during the construction of a facility in the North Sea:

Vergrämungsmaßnahmen nach dem Stand der Technik entspricht dem Vorsorgegedanken und vermeidet nach Möglichkeit den Eintritt nicht vorhersehbarer Gefährdungen für sensitive Arten wie etwa Schweinswale. Entsprechend der vom Umweltbundesamt (UBA) eingebrachten Expertise ist dabei sicherzustellen, dass der Unterwasserschallereignispegel (SEL) in der Bauphase 160 dB (dB re 1 μPa²s) und der Spitzenschalldruckpegel den Wert von 190 Dezibel (dB re1 μPa) außerhalb eines Kreises mit einem Radius von 750 m um die Emissionsstelle nicht überschreitet.

I have come across nothing that give me a clue as to how to express these values in English. And they must be fairly precise (and related to one another), since the Spitzenschalldruckpegel can be higher than the Unterwasserschallereignispegel.
