a benefit or promise of a benefit

Explanation:
Leistung being a 'joker-word' par excellence.

I also considered 'an act of consideration or of executory consideration', but to avail.

Note FWIW the translation of Leistungsversprechen as 'single contract obligation' in Der Grosse Eichborn.

Otherwise, invert analyzed company to company analys/zed and maybe change the word order > rendered - for the company analyzed - investment banking services by virtue of a *subsisting* contract ...

... but to *no* avail.

Example sentence(s):
  • Executory consideration consists of a promise to do something in return for a like promise. It is an exchange of promises, e.g. a promise to carry out some work in return for a promise of payment.

a fee or promised fee

Explanation:
Fee or promise of a fee would make sense in an investment banking context, could be argued not here, since why would that necessarily lead to a conflict of interest? But how else, and also Leistungsversprechen would make sense since the payment of the fee could be contingent on many things, like performance of acquired company, a deal going through, future transaction fees...

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
agree  Steffen Walter: Yes, and the "... aus dem ..." in Olaf's sentence refers to the existing contract, rather than to the investment banking services provided. "Giving rise to a service provided or promised" would be another way of putting it.
