German term or phrase: mit Antrag auf pfandweise Beschreibung
Solicitor's firm outlining scope of their services, in this case referring to the 'dunning process' and debt collection. I understand this to be about a formal / final demand that is to be applied for, but all the glossaries I've consulted haven't come up with a definite, snappy phrase!

Explanation:
UK or German etc. Solicitors?

Pfandweise derives from Pfänden meaning to distrain and Pfändung meaning distraint or levy of execution and not, as is sometimes mixed up even by UK-qualified Solicitors, Verpfändung meaning a pledge or mortgage / charge.

My first thought had been an Anton Piller Order, now a search-&-seize order that, to my recollection, used to be carried out on Affidavit (on oath in ENG Common Law countroes), now a Statement of Truth.

Example sentence(s):
  • The order is named after the 1975 English case of Anton Piller KG v Manufacturing Processes Limited, dealing with the theft of trade secrets,[1] although the first reported such order was granted by Templeman J earlier that year. They are now formally
  • USA: An Affidavit having been made before me by MICHAEL J. McKEOWN, ... inventory of the property seized and promptly return this Seizure Order.

The late Mr Benham was a highly reliable translator. In fact, everyone but the asker is now on the 'in memoriam' page. Sad.
