acclimatisation boma

Explanation:
I have been involved in elephant reintroduction into a natural habitat where the animals were relocated from elsewhere and then kept for a few months in what is called in South Africa a boma - an artificial enclosure where the animals are fed and watered with a mix of artificial and natural feed to make them adapt to the new environment.

Quarentine, or temporary confinement...

Explanation:
Well, I was recently reading some articles about introducing new animals caught in the wild to zoos, etc. and this time was normally referred to as quarantine.... I realize this is often interpreted as a term which refers to medical situations, and making sure they are not sick, but normally this period is both to make sure the acclimatize to their new habitat, as well as do not carry and sickness they will introduce to the other animals. Normally they should be in sight of the other animals, and in the same habitat, but not in CONTACT with the other animals until they are used to each other.

Another suggestion which has maybe less room for misinterpretation than quarantine might be 'temporary confinement'...
