neutral  philgoddard: I found "playout" for "Ausspielung", but you haven't established a link between the German word and your answer. And why would you play out unedited footage?

  -> Granted, the link is a bit vague--related technical context. The unedited footage is copied (played out) from one recording/storage medium to the one required for viewing & editing.
