Thanks for all the research and thoughts. I think you are on to something with the misspelling of "korial" but it remains a bit unclear how the "koriokorial" is to be interpreted. I will have to go with a note rather than risk misinterpreting at this point.

I should have used a lower CL, too. Actually, I was thinking about the two edges/surfaces that were joined by the suture. But this interpretation does not have to be right, of course.

I completely agree with Susanne regarding the 'dermal' bit and to be honest, I have also been thinking of completely agreeing with you because you deciphered the hard bit. You deserve a medal! However, the koriokorial combination does not give any hits at all and the first 'koreo' bit sounds more like the core but not another dermal as is in dermo-dermal so this is all a bit of guess work. I went for what is commonly used in mastectomies but I should have put a 1 or 2 confidence level. In addition, 'koreokoreale' seems to have a spelling error somewhere.

"Koriokorial" is a synonym for "dermodermal" which actually does exist, at least in German and there are also hits in English (also from EN native speakers)". Without a profound knowledge of surgery, I would certainly not use a translation just because there are many hits or add sth. like "deep". There are also superficial dermal sutures, after all.

"koreokoreale" doesn't seem to exist - unless it's a transcription error. Koreal is a misspelling of korial.
A "korial-subkutan versenkte Naht" is a "deep dermal-subcuticular suture" - lots of hits for both languages.

Not sure how to get "monocryl" from "Koreokoreale" - there is no mistaking the lettering in the document and repeated twice.
