SHI zero (Statutory Health Insurance zero)- please see below Explanation: GKV Null (Gesetzliche Krankenversicherung null) = SHI zero (Statutory Health Insurance zero) The 'zero' does not mean here that the patient does not have such an insurance (please note that the insurance is statutory [gesetzlich]) but that the patient's insurance does not accept the treatment costs (which is more likely here). In summary: Phenylketonuria is a rare genetic inherited disorder that causes an amino acid called phenylalanine to build up in the body. PKU is caused by a defect in the gene that helps create the enzyme needed to break down phenylalanine. There are various treatments available. However it is likely that not all treatments are recognosed for reimbursement by the statutory health insurance. However, you did not provide enough background inforation to be absolutely certrain. It should also be remembered that the German statutory health insurance system differs from that in other countries. |
