Medical - Medical: Health Care / Therapeutic exercises to stimulate lymph flow
German term or phrase: Ballenstand
This term and the related phrase "im Ballenstand gehen" are used in instructions on how to perform therapeutic exercises to stimulate lymph flow (in lymphedema, for example). I know that it means standing on the balls of the feet or "stand on the balls of your feet" but I wonder if there is a more concise term?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

agree  Anne Schulz: Let's put our suggestions together: mine for the "Stand" part and yours for the 'related phrase "im Ballenstand gehen"' (NB: In case there was some misunderstanding: Your answer was not yet up when I wrote mine.)

  -> No problem. I thought "toe walking" might be a more technical term, such as "Ballenstand" (contrary to "auf Zehenspitzen gehen"), but then I am not a native English speaker...

agree  Brent Sørensen: This sounds natural and is concise like the asker wanted

  -> Thanks Brent :-)

disagree  Tanja Boyandin: it says "im Ballenstand gehen", so it should be walking

  -> It actually says Ballen*stand*, and I trust that the asker is able to derive other expressions like "walk on tiptoe(s)", "tiptoe", "tiptoe exercises", "tiptoe maneuvres" as needed for his text ;-)

agree  writeaway: I agree that it seems that tiptoe is the correct English term. Asker is native English so as you say, he should be able to work it into his text.
