PPO = polyphenoloxidase

Latex fluidity analysis in silenced plants showed a strong correlation between residual PPO activity and the
coagulation rate, indicating that laticifer-specific PPO plays a major role in latex **coagulation** and wound sealing in dandelions.

clumping

Explanation:
verklumpen = to clump

Handle pears with care; never peel or slice them until you are ready to use them. When you bruise a pear or slice into it, you tear its cells, releasing polyphenoloxidase, an enzyme that
hastens the oxidation of phenols in the fruit, producingclumps of brownish compounds that darken the pear's flesh.

In the Cardiovascular System, bromelain supplement is theorized to play a role in the prevention of heart disease caused by atherosclerosis or thickening of the arterial wall due to plaque deposits. It slows down the clumping of platelets thus preventing a possible heart attack.

Polymerisation

Explanation:
As per my discussion entry

Example sentence(s):
  • Although it was used by some of the major players in the Second World War, latex from dandelions polymerises very quickly, making it hard to get all the latexy juice out of the stem.
  • But this isn’t stopping scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute, who have taken the direct approach, found the enzyme responsible for the rapid polymerisation and turned it off.
