This combination (in either order) appears several times in a list of specifications of movie cameras made in the 1930s:

Siemens-Kino-Kamera F: 16 mm-Schmalfilmkamera für Objektive mit 2,5 - 20 cm Brennweite, z. B. Siemens-Spiegel-Hypo-Mediar mit 20 cm Brennweite. Außerdem Objektive mit den Brennweiten 5, 7,5, 10 und 15 mm lieferbar. 15 m-Siemens-Kassette, Federwerkantrieb, einseitiger Greifer und Sperrgreifer, schwingender Verschluß, 8, 16, 24, 64 Bilder/s, *Einzelzeit- und -momentschaltung*. Restlicher Aufbau wie die seit Jahren im Handel befindlichen Siemens Kameras. Gewicht 1,9 kg. (Preis ohne Objektiv 1936: 396 RM)

Elsewhere in the document I find "Einzelbildschaltung", which does at least have a web presence ("frame advance" or "still advance"), but the distinction between these concepts seems vague, at least to me.

I'd appreciate any guidance with the subject expression accordingly, please.

Asker: Thanks for your input on this - those options sound plausible. The German client in the end said not to make any distinction between this pair and Einzelbildschaltung, so for better or worse I treated them as synonyms.
