It is indeed Standardwert. I had provisionally used "standardized score," with the abbreviation SS (with a query), which the authors accepted.

One of the Figures elsewhere in the article has the label "Summenwerte" in the context of PHQ-8, so that might be what's wanted here. I am going to have to leave it as a query for the authors, and will post it here if they answer me. Thanks to all for your help. I won't close the question yet.

It says "SW (Standardwerte), auch Z." I think mean is probably wrong, but Z-score looks likely because "Z-scores are also known as standardized scores; they are scores (or data values) that have been given a common standard."

This possibility just occurred to me, but it's only a guess. I usually translate that as "cumulative value."

Giving that the quality of a therapeutic relationship is being assessed, do you think it is Sollwert - target value? This could also to the later situations relating to insomnia and quality of life.
