In the source text it says: Die Verehrung der fünf Wunden Christi steht *in Zusammenhang* mit der Leidensandacht.

That means: The veneration of the five wounds of Jesus Christ is *connected to* the Leidensandacht.

Which means that we are talking about two different things, of which the Passionsoffizium is not part.

The Little Office of Passion is a collection of verses and psalms for the Liturgy of the Hours. However, the Seven Sorrows include The Crucifixion, The taking down of the Body of Jesus from the Cross, The burial of Jesus, where I do see a connection with the five wounds.

The veneration of the five wounds leads back to the bible verse „By his wounds we are healed (Is 53:5). It is meant to protect from unexpected death.

It is different from and not part of the Little Office of the Passion, which you will find is translated „Passionsoffizium“ or “Offizium vom Leiden des Herrn”, not “Leidensandacht”.

neutral  Helen Shiner: Unfortunately, this formulation generally refers to the Seven Sorrows of the Virgin, not Christ's Passion./Your 2nd link is correct though - another way of saying what I have suggested, it seems./Apart from agreeing with your second link!

Little Office of the Passion

Explanation:
The Little Office of the Passion follows a pattern constructed by Francis of Assisi. He ordered this office around the medieval association of five specific moments in Jesus' Passion with specific hours of the day.

Not to be confused with the Sorrows of the Virgin, of which there are more (in number).

I can't remember the exact terms I googled, but probably "Christ's passion", "devotion" or something similar.

If you look here, under Devotions, you'll see there are two: the Stations of the Cross (12), and the Little Office: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passion_of_Jesus

That seems a reasonable alternative, though the Little Office specifically attends to the Five Wounds as is mentioned in your text. But your solution may be better for comprehension's sake, and for a lay audience.

Asker: Hello (again) Helen. How did you get from Leidensandacht to Little Office of the Passions?

Asker: I suspect that 'Little Office of the Passion' is more specific than 'Leidensandacht'. Perhaps 'devotions to the Passion of Christ' would be safer. What do you think?

Asker: Jelly babies are Fuchtgummis. In Switzerland they're known as Gummibärli and are sometimes used by ski instructors to reward children. Thanks you very much for you answer Ramey.
