German term or phrase: bearbeitungsarm
This insole is advertised as being "bearbeitungsarm":

Sie ist bearbeitungsarm und gibt damit dem Fachhandel die Möglichkeit, vielen Arbeitnehmern schnell und unkompliziert zu helfen.

I'm thinking "easily processed" or "minimally processed", etc., but just don't see how this makes sense in the context of the sentence.

The insole is also considered Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and can be worn in ESD industries (ElectroStatic Discharge).

minimal handling

Explanation:
Requires minimal handling. I guess, the point is this reduces the likelihood of insoles being twisted by unskilled handling.

I don't think I would use 'handling' in connection with footwear.

agree  Björn Vrooman: Alternative: "highly." Else see discussion. Not warming up to "easy to fit," which may give you the wrong idea.

-> Thanks. I agree that they don't just slip into the shoe if the correct size is selected; they have to be trimmed and possibly raised or lowered.

agree  Dorothy Schaps: I think this works best. They must mean it in the sense of Armorel's reference below, i.e. you just have to cut them to fit the shoe. 'Easy to fit' hits the nail on the head for me =)

agree  freekfluweel: Only the term needs 'bearbeitung', not the insole... (well, just a bit)

There is a bilingual catalogue for Bauerfeind insoles at www.bauerfeind.ch/uploads/.../einlagen_und_schuhe_bauerfein...
(sorry, I realise that link may not work but I'm not sure how to post a link to a pdf). It translates "bearbeitungsarm" as "needs little processing" (see below) - which doesn't necessarily mean that that is the best translation.

Verarbeitung Manufacturing/Modifications
• Bearbeitungsarm, meist nur Formanpassung an Schuhe nötig
• Punktuell thermoplastisch verformbar (Heißluftfön, 120°C ,
20-30 sec.)
• Needs little processing, usually only needed to fit to shoe shape
(scissors, grinding belt, polishing brush)
• Partially thermo-formable (heat gun, 120°C/248°F , 20-30 sec)

agree  Lancashireman: Agree. 'Processing' is a rather grandiose term for trimming with scissors.

agree  Björn Vrooman: Terrible translation aside, the reference is still helpful.
