English translation: will go through many more revolutions
08:55 Oct 4, 2019
German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Science (general)
confirms my suspicion that this is an esoteric subject and should be treated accordingly.
As for intelligence, I saw Barbara's comment. I can't post the link for obvious reasons, but one speaker at the event said: "Wasser hat ein Gedächtnis und ist in der Lage, zu kommunizieren."
"...if science is catching up to the meta-(everyday)standards..." That's one of the big problems in this context. I don't see what this has to do with either Water 4.0 or Wasser 4.0; adding "revolution" won't do anything to untangle the issue. I'd be tempted to drop 4.0, although it's probably not wanted.
Best wishes

Yes, the viele nags me, too. Martina told us that the event concerns water revitalization, which, in practice, has to do with ionizing, molecule shattering (in a useful way), aerating, spinning and illuminating. The Japanese artist Masaru Emoto has been studying the intelligence of water for the last ten years and there have been filters ionizing water and illuminating water for quite a while. It's a good thing, if science is catching up to the meta-(everyday)standards.
4) Water 4.0 has little, if anything, to do with what Germans think is Wasser 4.0: "Wasser 4.0 stellt die Digitalisierung und Automatisierung in den Mittelpunkt einer Strategie für eine ressourceneffiziente, flexible und wettbewerbsfähige Wasserwirtschaft.
Contrast this with what Brian Smith has to say about David Sedlak's Water 4.0: "This possibly stems from the fact that many of Sedlak’s suggested solutions amount to shifts in individual attitude and practice rather than technological or engineering advancements." https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/0319/a3430c490f7d39c23fb386...
A couple of points because I think this piece of marketing copy is flawed (I asked Martina a long time ago if these types of documents even go to a GNS sub-editor before being translated). Maybe it helps, maybe it doesn't.
1) This was a company event, not a government-sponsored conference.
2) "wasserrevolution 4.0" doesn't make sense in German. It's called Industrie 4.0 for a reason (no revolution). Industrie 4.0 was coined by three Germans (one of whom I used to work for, funnily enough) and 4.0 is a reference to version numbers (e.g., of software applications). It's also known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, but that doesn't mean you should say "Industrierevolution 4.0" instead.
Yes, you can find some people who use the above, but this only proves they didn't get the memo, IMO.
