German term or phrase: kleine Dicken
I am translating a letter (German to American English) and part of a sentence reads:

"aber wenn ich so an die Bilder Deiner beiden „kleine Dicken“ denke"

I am wondering about the term "kleine Dicken". I know this is not "fat" but instead refers to the children endearingly, and maybe also to their overall health. I was thinking of "little ones", but the charm and fondness for the children is not quite there. What do you all think? How do you translate "dick" in this situation where it's not about size? I've been faced with this dilemma before.

Thanks! Erin
