US terminology vs. GB terminology 15:25 May 12, 2020
Klaus Beyer's reference comment prompted me to check not only "cargo" for applicability, but all the packaging units and transport routes mentioned here. Because I posted a suggestion myself, I had to post the search results into the discussion.
Schäfer's Business Dictionary English-German contains the following entries
cargo (com) / Fracht, Frachtgut, Ladegut; (com) Seefracht, Schiffsladung, Kargo (syn, ocean freight) goods (Vw) Güter (syn, commodities, resources) freight (com, US) / Frachtgut, (ie, bei allen Beförderungsarten) freight (com, GB) / Frachtgut, (ie, bei See- und Lufttransport) load (com) Ladung, … shipment (com) / Versand, Verschiffung, Ladung (sysn, cargo, freight, load, consignment)
Unfortunately, a difference in the US/GB idioms I could only find for "freight". |
