Der Zeuge sah, wie der Beschuldigte mit seinem LK in die Hofeinfahrt des Grundstücks fuhr ....
Dabei fuhr der Beschuldigte mit der rechten Fahrzeugseite gegen die rechte Seite der Hofeinfahrt ....
Er fuhr nach dem Aufprall in den Innenhof.

Ich stelle mir die Hofeinfahrt als eine Art Lücke in einer Mauer vor, durch die man reinfährt, wobei der Beschuldigte meiner Ansicht nach gegen einen Pfeiler gefahren ist (also nicht portail oder sowas)

Aber mir fällt wirklich im Französischen nichts dazu ein ....

Portail me semble ne s'appliquer qu'aux entrées qu'on peut fermer et/ou qui sont surmontées d'une arche, d'un linteau ou de quelque chose de ce genre.

Autre solution : Entrée de / accès à la cour pour les véhicules/ praticable pour les véhicules (factuel), accès carrossable (= jargon Code la route).

Explanation:
doch, aber kein Pfeiler, sondern die rechte Seite, die wie auch immer gestaltet ist. Das kann die rechte Seite des Tors sein, oder aber ein Mauerstück, eine Begrenzungsmauer, eine Lücke. Das Weiss man aber nicht. Mit portail bist Du auf der sicheren Seite.
