A teljesítmény reaktív része, másképpen meddő/wattmentes komponens. Ezt lehet csökkenteni pl. fázisjavító kondenzátorok alkalmazásával (a fázis úgy jön ide, hogy a váltóáram fázisszögétől függ, azaz az áram és a feszültség közötti eltolódás szögétől).
