Bei einem bidirektionalen statischen Pfahlbelastungsversuch werden ein oder mehrere Schwerlastzellen in einen Pfahl eingebaut.
Nach Installation können die Zylinder mittels einer verlorenen Schlauchleitung einzeln aktiviert und gegeneinander weggedrückt werden.
Somit können einzelne Pfahlabschnitte stufenweise statisch belastet werden.
