De wiki: Schleswig-Holstein es el único estado federado alemán que tiene costas en dos mares: el Mar del Norte en el oeste y el Báltico en el este. El río más importante es el Elba (en alemán die Elbe), que forma una frontera natural en el suroeste.

En el norte es la frontera con Dinamarca, en el sur se encuentran los Estados federados alemanes de Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Mecklemburgo-Pomerania Occidental), Hamburg (Hamburgo) y Niedersachsen (Baja Sajonia).
