group of digits Explanation: The "Block"-part of "Versionsblock" is a "group of digits", so you'll end up with a whole line in English where they put one word in German... group of digits denoting the version? Not very elegant, I admit... |

s.u. Explanation: Ein Erklärungsversuch: Ein Versionsblock ist ein Datenblock, der bestimmte Informationen zu der Version eines Software- oder auch Hardwareprodukts enthält. Die Versionsnummer kennzeichnet ein bestimmtes Programm auf einer bestimmten Entwicklungsstufe. Im allgemeinen besteht eine Versionsnummer aus zwei Teilen, die durch einen Punkt getrennt sind. Nachfolgende Programmversionen werden durch eine höhere Nummer gekennzeichnet. Größere Änderungen eines Programms versieht man mit einer höheren Hauptversionsnummer vor dem Punkt. Geringfügige Änderungen gibt man in der Versionsnummer durch die nächsthöhere Zahl nach dem Punkt an. |
