I can't make heads or tails out of this sentence and would appreciate any suggestions.

Im 1. Schritt wird die aus dem Netzplan in PS- Modul kommende abhängige Reservierung aus dem Netzplan für das Baugruppenkopfmaterial ein Bedarfsdecker in Form eines Planauftrags oder in Form einer Bestellanforderung gegenübergestellt.

What is being compared to what here? Is it: ... die Reservierung wird ein(em) Bedarfsdecker... gegenübergestellt?

IMO it's saying that something (a Planauftrag or Bestellanforderung, whatever they may be in SAP-speak) that fulfils the reservation arising from xxx is set against it (which might mean that it is generated from scratch or picked from an existing pool).

(IMO, but I could be wrong, it should be 'wird der ... Reservierung... ein Bedarfsdecker... gegenübergestellt')

Thanks for your help, Ken. I think you are right about the missing dative. I ran the sentence past a NS, who pointed out that Netzplan is probably in there one too many times and who basically rewrote the sentence for me, which helped a lot.
