Tech/Engineering - Computers: Software
Hebrew term or phrase: ההטמעה
מאז ההטמעה הראשונה בארץ של הכלי, ביצענו מעל ... פרויקטים בכל סוגי הסקטורים בארץ ובימים אלו אנו מסיימים את הטמעת הגירסה הבאה של המוצר בפעם הראשונה בעולם

Apart from its general meanings, eg absorption, assimilation
is there a branch-specific translation for ?ההטמעה
If not, is either of the above preferable? TIA

English translation:Integration
Explanation:
Other options are also possible - implementaion etc.

Explanation:
It's not that clear-cut, but that's the term used in your context here (IT systems' development and integration).

System Integration is widely translated as - הטמעת מערכות

Explanation:
This is another option for הטמעה in your context:
"From the time of initial implementation"

agree  elishevah: I consulted a hi-tech engieer, who works with the US, he says that although assimilation conveys the meaning more exactly it is not widely used. In the context presented here, they use implementation. However, this also has other meanings in IT

neutral  Ron Armon: Very true, and even more so in the general context needed in this case (not a phase in the life cycle). That's why it was my second option in the answer above.

deployment

Explanation:
My VP R&D had a brain wave after I posted the previous suggestion. He says they use deployment to reflect the actions of setting up an application at the customer site, integrating it into the customer's systems, and getting them to use it.
When I Googled for this it came up in a Microsoft manual. So it looks like this might be their official translation. How about that! Iwas always looking for a good translation for this word : )
