Hebrew term or phrase: לבית
How would you translate: מרים כהן לבית גולדשמיט?
The question is about the word לבית. The meaning is clear: Goldshmit is Miriam Cohen's maiden name.
I was thinking of "Miriam Cohen (formerly Goldshmit)", but this works only if the name Cohen is mentioned too.
I also need to translate: מרים לבית גולדשמיט, without Cohen, rendering Miriam (formerly Goldshmit) quite strange.
Any suggestions?

Now - if she was a Rothschild... you could say Miriam of the House of Rothschild and you could get away with it.
