Literally "not a small bandit" what would be a good translation for this idiom.
It is used to describe a past officer of the Air Force.

quite mischievous / quite the rascal


Explanation:
As far as I know the Hebrew "idiom/saying" is שובב לא קטן and not שודד. Anyway, my suggestion is not a literal translation but puts the point across.

I'm a bit concerned that rascal could be misconstrued. Then again, so could mischievous.

  -> שודד is also somewhat negative. I pointed to the possible misconstruction in my answer.
neutral  Odded Leon: Both of those suggestions sound like something you would say about a kid in kindergarten so if your original is really שודד and not שובב, I wouldn't use either of them. If it is שובב mischievous is fine. IMHO
