Whirlpool appearance of the serosa/fibrous layer Explanation: Pathologists like giving graphic descriptions. This is my best guess. Especially if we're talking about a gynecological tumor infiltrating these layers. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 33 mins (2016-02-17 22:59:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- In that case it's probably incorrect (if it's a tumor in the uterus with a stage of less than T3). It's only possibly correct if it's T3+. A few words before/after the sentence would maybe help (even if it's a different sentence). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 48 mins (2016-02-17 23:13:58 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- It could be a fibroid tumor: נסיובית סיבית could be a (literal) translation of "serous fibroid" - there are also other fibroids which could be described on the endometrium. These are fragile tumors (as described), which are benign and tend to bleed a lot. I'd still go for "whirlpool appearance", but I'll go for "serous fibroid with a whirlpool appearance" - IF the rest of the report doesn't contradict it. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 52 mins (2016-02-17 23:17:38 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Well, I'm stumped. I'll let you know if I think of something and good luck :) |
