What does भूना mean, and what does हुआ mean, please? Is हुआ from the verb होना (to be), perhaps a past participle?

Explanation:
While I am aware that the classic translation of "bhun na" is to roast, I fell that this does not adequately or correctly describe what this actually means in the context of classic Indian cookery. As a cook, I equate this word with pan cooking, not oven roasting, stirring frequently until the oil comes out of the food mixture
