Így, hogy a Gábornál felmerült a nemi vágy, még rákerestem a Collins English Dict.-ben, a felsorolt 13 jelentésben sehol nem volt erre való utalás, sőt:
lapse: 5. Law: the termination of some right, interest or privilage, as by neglecting to excercise it or through failure of some contingency
6, Insurance: the termination of coverage following a failure to pay the premiums

Szerintem egyaránt használható mindkét kifejezés, ezért az időrend szerint döntöttem. Köszönöm.

disagree  Gábor Lőrincz-Véger: A "lapse of interest" pl. a nemi vágy csökkenésének leírásánál lenne használható, de a biztosítási jog csak "loss of interest"-et ismer.

-> hát a jogi szótár nem írt nemi vágyakról, de most megnéztem még a Collins English Dictionaryben is, ott sincs semmi nyoma nemi vágynak...

Hát a magyar szakszótárak ... (itt sóhajtás van)
Én eddig pajzán olvasmányaimban találkoztam ezzel a kifejezéssel, de pl. a Google-ról: "In, for instance, establishing Tennessee Williams's "sexual identity" as central to his ... Such moments suggest a lapse of interest in the play as a play, ..."
Persze, ezenkívül használható a "lapse of interest" pl. egy film iránti érdeklődés csökkenésére, vagy ha pl. egy gyermek megun egy játékot, illetve irodalmi művekben, de a biztosításban biztosan nem jó kifejezés.

neutral  Jim Tucker (X): I see no grounds for your distinction btw "lapse" and "loss" - in fact, I would even put it the other way around - "Loss of interest" is common when discussing sex; "lapse" implies a temporary flagging - but none of this is the issue here (see com. above)

neutral  Jim Tucker (X): not exactly; "interest" is not used there (except as 'kamat') - all I see there is discussion of the lapse of the *policy* itself; correct me if I've missed something
