flower Explanation: Virag is a Hungarian name meaning "flower". In Ulysses (Chapter 15) Virag introduces himself by saying: "My name is Virag Lapoti, of Szombathely", so he is certainly Hungarian. The only problem with this is that Virag is a woman's name. But maybe Joyce didn't know this.
