Hungarian term or phrase: forrásvidék
Greetings to all! Can you help me?
What is the English for "forrásvidék"?

context: "egyfelől a megállapodottság, másfelől a forrásvidékek tápláló ereje érvényesül"

"source" is not good here. I thought of "field of origin"? What do you think? thanks in advance!

Thank you, to me this is the most suited translation! I do not mean "rivers" , I mean the "land of sources" figuratively. "... of inspiration" sounds good . I think further. So you all agree with me that it is not at all that easy to find the equivalent of this Hungarian word?...

disagree  JANOS SAMU: The headwater certainly has power, but the land of headwaters does not sound good. Also we rarely use it in plural. In the given context several areas are indicated.

-> Well, this is amatter of taste. Area of headwaters would work as well. Lands or areas of headwaters in plural.

tributaries

Explanation:

A forrásvidékek tápláló ereje itt a feeding strength of the tributaries. A többes számnak meghatározó jelentősége van, mert forrásvidékek a belefolyó vizek eredetét jelentik.

disagree  Andras Malatinszky: A tributary is a river, not a piece of land. The word you are looking for is a watershed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tributary explains it all.
1 hr
-> Nem a watershed, mivel az a vízgyűjtőt jelenti, amiben maga a folyó is benne van.
