Chips Explanation: This is a second alternative. I'm thinking "notches" are usually made on purpose for various reasons, while "chips" are usually accidental. From the text I'm thinking that maybe "chips" is more suitable, i.e. whoever made the tool and whoever used it knew what he was doing and so the tool was not damaged/chipped in any way. |
