Credo che possa anche andar bene "what's on stage is exactly the opposite of this worst-case scenario", ossia del rischio di un grosso flop perché appunto: "Raccontare un compositore in una mostra rischia di trasformarsi in un insuccesso di dimensioni degne del più costruito melodramma. Raccontarne uno come Giuseppe Verdi, nell’anno del bicentenario della sua nascita, potrebbe sfiorare il pedissequo" Ciao e buon lavoro :) |

a very colorless rendering / the most banal/poor imitation Explanation: I would suggest a synonym for 'pedisseque' (bella e rara parola italiana). the opposite of..the most banal/poor imitation As already mentioned, such beautiful Italian is literal and figurative. This implies a nonliteral translation, otherwise there is a high risk of having a perfect translation, but definitely with poor meaning in the target language. |

Potrei pensare che a Roma la crisi è tale da far prevedere pochissimi visitatori...
