Italian term or phrase: libretto d'opera
The term occurs in an article by a scholar who is proposing a study of synesthesia, the phenomena of combined perceptions (sound and image, for instance) being provoked by a single stimuli (a sound, for instance)... in the work, she proposes that both the subject be researched by scholars, and that a composer write a musical score, or a ballet, that takes into account the results of these studies. The musical work would apparently be recorded and published in the "libretto d'opera". Here is the sentence:

Earlier in the work she had stated that her study proposed:

Booklet? Libretto? Something else?

Peter

"libretto"

Explanation:
The inverted commas o italics will make it clear that it is a special use of the Italian term

agree  Inter-Tra: You do not need to put inverted commas. This is a pretty old and well rooted Italian borrowing. Think about MEATASTASIO, one of the most well-known librettists in Europe..
