in latino umanistico come appellativo regale.
Così lo descrissero le fonti coeve e ancora
nel secolo successivo il siciliano Fazello,
tramandando il personaggio del perfetto
principe rinascimentale, esperto in tutte le
discipline, tra cui l’arte della guerra, cultore
delle lettere, bibliofilo, incline a conoscere
e ospitare tutti gli artisti e artefici più eccellenti in ciascuna disciplina.
