Italian term or phrase: Asseverare
I am trying to translate this term and differentiate it from Apostillare and Legalizzare.

"Se vuoi Legalizzare o Apostillare un documento, prima devi Asseverarlo".

Are there widely accepted translations of these words? It's a difficult one because they're Italian concepts and I often find all 3 translated as "legalise".

Explanation:
The subject here is the document itself, not the authenticity of official signatures on it, and not the validity of the document (in a given status) for use in a foreign country (other than the country of origin).

Pochissimi sanno la differenza tra giuramento e asseverazione che spesso come termini finiscono per coincidere ma concettualmente sono 2 cose diverse
