(main) shooting Explanation: Haven't taken the time to really look into it, but the distinction may be between the production process as a whole (fase di produzione) and the principal photography or actual shooting of scenes (fase realizzativa/realizzazione). In both cases whoever came up with the concept for the series would have to be intimately involved. In the ITA Wikipedia article below, Ctrl+F instances of realizzare/realizzazione and you'll find it used to mean "make" as well as "shoot", whereas produzione refers to production. But it's just one ref. See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filmmaking#Production. Example sentence(s):

production process Explanation: See my discussion entry. On the production phases, see just about anywhere. My first hits were: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filmmaking https://montalo.net/produzione-cinematografica/ http://www.you-school.it/le-fasi-realizzative But the essential distinction is between the production process/production phases (plural) and the actual shoot/production. |

development phase Explanation: development or pre-production phase "The basic assumption is that a project can be changed, but the person who proposed it, and with whom you have to work closely in the development phase, cannot." "If the project were to succeed, its author(s) would by necessity have a leading role in the development and subsequent production phase." https://www.ipr.edu/blogs/digital-video-and-media-production/what-are-the-phases-of-film-production/ https://www.linguee.com/english-italian/search?source=auto&query=fase+realizzativa |
