If/when it's your turn your turn will come Explanation: a lot depends on the particular phrase, tone and context but to keep close to the source expression and for a British audience I'd use the above but other common alternatives with similar but slightly different meanings could be: 1) whatever will be, will be. (common to many languages and famously sung by the great Doris day. 2) if something can happen it will (Sod's Law /Murphey's Law) 3) if God says it's your time, it's your time. (usually refers to the unpredictability of death) |
