"Settlement" is intentionally in the singular, -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 mins (2013-10-22 14:02:11 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "maglia" implies that the settlements were built according to a grid, which is just possible if the grid was a Roman centuriation. But even if this were the case it is unlikely that much of the Roman grid would remain strong today. |
