Explanation:
To me this should be transformed, leaving out the 'not on his own behalf', as it is redundant, but stating 'businessman serving as chairman of the board of directors". however, there is nothing to stop you, aside from its awkwardness, from translating the phrase literally, 'businessman serving as chairman of the board of directors rather than on his own behalf' or something similar. neutral  James (Jim) Davis: Cedric this is legal, if you remove all that is redundant from the law, what is left would resemble a mathematical equation.

  -> I know you have a point, Jim, but I disagree. Italians love to add much more than is necessary and leave out significant points in later passages mostly due to how reference works in IT.

  -> I agree with your comment. I had misinterpreted it. However perhaps my offering could also be interpreted in the sense of "appearing" rather than doing business. It that case "a businessman, not on own account".
