I would normally assume this to be "ventricolo sinistro" but I cannot work out the following from a Cath report:

Conclusioni:
BUON RISULTATO DI ANGIOPLASTICA CON STENT MEDICATO SU RAMO CIRCONFLESSO VS RAMO POSTEROLATERALE

So:

GOOD ANGIOPLASTY OUTCOME WITH DRUG-ELUTING STENT [INSERTED] INTO THE CIRCUMFLEX BRANCH [VS] POSTEROLATERAL BRANCH

Does it means "versus"?

I'm so confused!

VS=ventricolo sinistro (left ventricle)
I think they mean that the stented part of the vessel supplies the left ventricle.

"The circumflex artery branches off of the left coronary artery and supplies most of the left atrium: the posterior and lateral free walls of the left ventricle, and part of the anterior papillary muscle. The circumflex artery may give off a variable number of left marginal branches to supply the left ventricle. The terminal branch is usually the largest of these branches. More likely, the circumflex artery may continue through the AV sulcus to supply the posterior wall of the left ventricle and (with the right coronary artery) the posterior papillary muscle of the bicuspid valve. The left circumflex branches decrease in diameter along their lengths."

neutral  Joseph Tein: There is no need for them to say Left Ventricle because there are no separate circumflex and posterolateral branches on the right side. Consider my suggestion below.

  -> Hi there. YES, you're right! I missed that. However, it is still quite possible that there was a SV graft that had to be re-opened with angioplasty. I'll reduce my confidence level to a 3!
