This is a report of a patient who suffered septic shock after having a PEG placed. I can't quite work out what "ambulante" means here. Does it mean it was placed at an outpatient facility?

"Paziente con severa fibrosi polmonare. Per migliorare lo stato nutritivo, al XXX è stata posizionata una PEG, inserita dai radiologi a livello ambulante. Al XXX il paziente è rientrato con CVL in Cure Intense per shock settico."
