Wartime Court(-)Martial (Trial) Explanation: I think court(-)martial is right. Best specify the target-country if members of the court go on to be mentioned as US 'military law' terminology differs from the UK/Irish 'service law' vernacular. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 15 hrs (2019-10-07 07:58:07 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- OK, Ciarán (as accented). The version I have given is arguably 'Transatlantic'. Space permitting, I would recommend taking out the brackets - OED > Court Martial unhyphenated, but as a verb transitive, to court-martial / - marshall. Anyway, if using my (obscure) suggestion of drumhead for stataria in the same exhibit legend, I would add the word of trial but leave hyphenated, so balance stylistically (?) to something like: 'either by wartime court-martial trial or (by) in-the-field (summary/ 'lightning justice') drumhead court-martial'.
