Italian term or phrase: verso interno
in a patent for brakes: the "verso" is clearly different from the "direzione" but I can't think of a suitable term. Any hlep much appreciated.

........Detta direzione radiale R-R definisce un verso interno RI, quando diretta verso la direzione assiale coincidente con l’asse di rotazione del disco A-A.

internal surface
Explanation:
I tried to picture this in my mind.

This is what I think is closest; they are referring to the surface of a cylinder facing its center (longitudinal axis).

Hi, I think "sense" may be ambiguous. Certainly "inner sense" or "internal sense" will be confusing. IMHO I would leave it in the Mech. Engineering solid body lingo.

Thanks Cilantro, in the end I chose "sense" as the term used in physics but you certainly helped to get a better idea of the concept
