It is a book about how to tell the children about their parents separation and divorce.

This sentence is giving me some hard times

Accogliere e gestire sia la rabbia propria che quella dei figli è talvolta più complesso che gestire la tristezza.

I would say something like:

Accepting and managing anger - one's own and the children's - is sometimes more complicated than managing sadness.

In general I would start with "Anger acceptance and management..." but I don't find a good way to put in the "parent and children" part.
