Italian term or phrase: cella agganciata
From a police report of wiretap transcripts

"Si riportano gli ulteriori elementi che tale intercettazione telefonica permette di rilevare:
...
iii) la cella agganciata dall'utenza in uso a Sig. A è in [città], via X nr. 1"

I have been translating "utenza" as "device"
"cella agganciata" = ?
"agganciata" = "contacted by" "connected to by"
"cella" = is this a "cell phone"? or a more general term?
My dictionaries all just say "cell"
I have been googling use os "cella" in Italian, but still unsure

Asker: What does "cell" mean? Is it the same as "cellular phone/mobile phone"? This is what is causing my confusion

Asker: many thanks for that additional note, very helpful
