Explanation:
La Barrique è una piccola botte in legno, della capacità compresa normalmente tra 225 e 228 litri viene utilizzata per la stagionatura del vino, sia bianco che rosso. Si considerano 225 litri per la barrique bordolese, 228 litri per la borgogna (detta pièce o tonneaux bordolese), 350 l. Per la stagionatura del cognac 250-260 l.Per la stagionatura del porto. Sempre in Francia nella provincia di Champagne, vengono usati barrique di 205 l. per l'affinamento dei vini utilizzati nell'assemblage degli champagne migliori. Esiste anche un tipo più piccolo di barrique detto demi-barrique che ha una capacità di 110-115 l.
